Mud

This operator was a living legend or goat after this.

No matter where you live, you have mud at times. Not all mud is created equal. Sometimes trucks sink to the axle the instant they hit the mud. In other cases, the mud is basically a slime on top of packed clay. It's almost like ice skating and it can stop a truck in its tracks as well as soft mud. The type of mud can impact projects significantly but skill and comfort working around mud can have just as big of an impact. For instance, in the desert southwest a single day of rain can shut some jobs down for a week. This would be unheard of wetter regions. Not only do projects in wet regions often work through the actual rain event (assuming no lightening) but they also work through and around mud until it dries out. Regardless of where it is, mud creates massive track out problems. To end on a positive note, mud does help with jobsite dust control.
