The best contractors find, develop and use the right tools without being a tool themselves. As defined by Dictionary.com a tool is "anything used as a means of accomplishing a task or purpose." In construction this is often applied to hand or power tools but can also be applied to heavy equipment and even technology. A tool is only a tool if it adds value to the construction process via the client and contractor bottom line. Don't be fooled by gidgets, gadgets and even technologies that claim improve things when in reality they just make things fancier or fun but don't improve the contractor or client finances. Simply put, if you can't call a piece of equipment, technology or some sort of mechanical assistance a tool, it's not going to improve your projects and won't improve your bottom line.
Also, don't be a tool. Nobody wants to work with or be that "person who is manipulated by another for the latter's own end."
