Bad Job Isn't Getting Better - Erupts In Fire During Demolition

When a job goes bad, it can keep going bad even after the first hit. The Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans that suffered a partial collapse during construction last year caught fire while a crew was using a torch during demolition. While this can happen on quite a few projects, it is interesting it happened on this one. Anecdotally, many of us have seen this on projects during our career. Jobs that start safely with high quality work tend to finish that way. Jobs that have less than stellar safety and quality records at the start struggle to recover, even after project teams regroup or get replaced. It's an odd thing.
