It sounds fancy but it is essentially being a skeptic of yourself and the truth of your beliefs and what you believe to be true. More popular in philosophy circles than construction, it can nevertheless be applied when planning work, developing safety plans, performing monthly forecasts and more. Am I really going to beat the estimated production? Just because we have done it this way forever, does that mean it is still the safest way? Pickup Truck Bob has done great work previously but does that mean he will on this project? Ask yourself questions and give real answers. Don't get stuck on internal confirmation bias. No one knows or cares if your were right in your head or changed the plan before the work took place. Success is measured outside of the trailer.
