We construction pros are usually pretty confident in our ability to find and build work profitably. That being said, results from the Associated Builders and Contractors' Construction Confidence Index survey that was conducted in March are not positive. Contractors are surveyed on "Sales Expectations," "Profit Margins" and "Staffing Levels." Anything over 50 indicates the surveyed contractors anticipate growth. For the first time ever, all three categories were under 50, indicating that most contractors are not optimistic about our future right now. This change happened quickly as in the last survey all three metrics were surveyed in the 60 to 70 range in the last survey with all three in the 36 to 46 range this period. Full full details, check out the ABC news release.
