Criminal Case for Jobsite Death

A leader for a project located in Canada that resulted in a death in 2009 was recently arrested in the United States and faces extradition for a criminal trial relating to the death. Gerald Karjala was a leader on the project that was removing boulders when one broke loose and killed a worker. Previous incidents which resulted in property damage are being used or referenced in the case to attempt to demonstrate that Karjala acted with negligence. Another project leader has already been arrested and the company that employed all builders was Kiewit.
