Following Our Nation's Leaders, Jobsite Team Splits in Support of Partisanship

Following the lead of increasing partisanship by our nation’s political leaders, a local jobsite is taking steps to separate and fracture the project team. They started with shredding the project partnering charter. Next, the meeting room was converted into a game room for the contractor complete with a ping pong table and a kegerator. Shortly after, everyone stopped communicating with anyone who didn’t work directly for their employer. Contract language and specifications will be cherry picked to suit each entity’s needs at the expense of the others. Moving forward, the contractor, subcontractor, designer and client agreed to disagree on all things. Though the main goal is to disagree on all things, every prior team member has agreed to call people names, slander reputations and lie on any and all topics.

All of this may sound counterproductive but senior leaders on the project firmly believe that if partisanship is good enough for our government, it is good enough construction projects. The General Superintendent on the project stated, “Building the job is a little more combative but the game room is a great place to blow off steam and plan how to win the next battle in this zero sum game.”
