Get to Work

Person that does not enjoy work.

When trying to get a lot of things done by a non-flexible deadline, do you worry and stress or just get to work? Work can be no fun challenging and intimidating but if you're like me, you stress a bit and then get busy working. I haven't and still am not always good at just working when I have a lot on my plate but when I can get myself to work, worry almost always seems to dissipate. It's interesting to me how we can get ourselves into negative or positive momentum building cycles. We can become overwhelmed and worry, then delay working and getting things done which makes deadlines more tight and causes an increased feeling of overwhelm and worry. We can also choose to take action, even if imperfect, from the get go. Getting things done and making progress usually leads to confidence on future work, less stress because there is literally less that needs to get done and fosters more work and getting things done. Whether we are in a negative cycle or just starting, the best way to get rid of worry and get things done is to just get to work.
