Keep Working

Watching a few of the college football conference championships today, the Ohio State and Wisconsin game caught my attention. I don't even like the Buckeyes but they impressed me. Ohio State got behind early and was down 14 at the half. They made a few adjustments at half time and started the second half and finished strong. They were comfortably ahead by the time the final whistle was blown. With the pressure on at half time, they kept working and made good things happen. They obviously had the same amount of time to perform as Wisconsin and the Badgers were doing their best to stop them but they worked hard and executed their plan better. Work isn't quite like a football game but if a job struggles at the start, we can make adjustments and then focus on working extra hard and executing to catch up to a budget, improve the bottom line, repair a strained client relationship and more by the time the project closes out. We can track progress, keep score, analyze, make adjustments, execute and repeat. When all else fails, "Just keep swimming" as the great fish Dory directed.
