No Excuses

Excuses are like...and they all stink.

Excuses. We all have them. Not all of us use them. We all have reasons or stories in our heads that we might play to ourselves and others if we don’t succeed. Sometimes we even play them before we try to succeed to create wiggle room for future failure or so that we don’t even try. The amount of success someone attains in life is usually inversely related to the number of excuses they use. If you want to build a better world and win at work you need to avoid excuses. Work hard and smart enough to get things right more often or not and when you do come up short, don’t make excuses – learn and get it right the next time around. Excuses hinder us at work but also away from the trailer. This is true with our families and health. If you make regular excuses, your family won’t trust or rely on your just like someone at work. Eventually, they might even find someone who doesn’t make excuses and just takes care of things. If you aren’t happy with your health, you can’t make excuses. Eventually, you have to own it and get the workout, food or medical help you need. The world didn’t get built by people who make excuses so if you want to build a better world, build your career and win at work, don’t make or allow excuses.
