Put the Phone Down

Old phones were barely capable of making calls. Image has zero relevance to this post.

Turns out cell phones are bad for us almost no matter what we are doing. Whether it's driving, sitting on the couch, scrolling while in bed or distracting from work on the jobsite, cell phones aren't always safe or healthy for us. Use of cell phones can take our minds out of the hazardous environment that most jobsites are. We become less aware of the trench nearby, the backup alarm on the concrete truck, overhead hazards and more. Just like it is best to put the phone down when driving to stay focused on the road, trying to have conversations & build relationships with loved ones or in bed to get more sleep, putting the phone down while on the job helps us be more productive and stay safe.
