Sunday Night Insomnia

Most everyone in construction starts their Monday pretty early so going to bed at a reasonable time is critical to starting the week right. I know this and I regularly struggle falling asleep when I need to Sunday night. There are a variety of reasons for this but I think my main issue is that I change my sleep pattern a little bit. My body naturally sleeps in a bit if I don't have an alarm. I'm not usually sleeping in too late because I have a few kids that see to it that I am up an running fairly early even on the weekends. That being said it is just enough. I do know some construction pros naturally wake up about the same time everyday, weekends included. They're the lucky ones.

Sunday night insomnia is a real thing and it can be caused by several factors. One of those is changing sleep patterns like I experience. Another major factor is anxiety - traffic, early meetings or upcoming deadlines are just a few potential anxiety inducing worries.
