Superintendent Tries to Convince Engineers Noise Cancelling Ear Plugs Filter Them as Noise

Guy Early (from https://www.thetrailer.build/post/engineers-vote-to-impeach-superintendent) is back at it again with the engineers in his trailer. Mr. Early is still making life tough for the engineers because they never actually moved forward with trying to full impeachment because they couldn't get organized on the key impeachable offenses.

Now, he is parading around the jobsite and the trailer ignoring most everything they say to or ask of him. He is doing this because he is wearing noise cancelling ear plugs that he claims not only remove all noise but filter all sound to levels that are best heard by someone his age while removing obnoxious whining and questions from inexperienced engineers and foremen. He even claims they filter out the annoying Senior PM or Executive who generally knows what they are doing but doesn't know enough about his job to tell him what to do. According to the engineers, "He seems to conveniently never hear us. Not even when we inform him that a key piece of equipment was delivered to the site. He only hears us when we tell him the food for the monthly meeting is ready which we are pretty sure he actually smells and is aware of without us telling him. We're pretty sure he just has earplugs in - not noise cancelling or filtering ear plugs."

Guy even seems to never hear company executives when they come to the trailer and site to check things out. He doesn't react when they ask to join him in his office to discuss his performance and merit raise. As bad as that is, the dead giveaway that he is likely wearing ear plugs that completely block out noise that when the executives ask him to privately discuss the performance and potential merit raises of his engineers. In the past, when Guy has been irritated with an engineer he was more than willing to discuss their work. Given that he is especially irritated with this team of engineers, company leadership is convinced, like the engineers, that he is just flat wearing ear plugs that block out all sound.

Mr. Early would have been interviewed for this article but the author of this article was unable to talk with him, even when yelling. The author wasn't about to dare to invade his personal space and tap him on the shoulder, then use the vague but universal hand signals to remove his ear plugs, so that they could have a conversation.
