Most all of the United States "Sprang Forward" this weekend for Daylight Savings. Most everyone except Arizona and a few other states and areas in the US "Spring Forward" and "Fall Back" each year. I grew up in Texas where I was miserable losing an hour in the Spring but happy to get an extra hour in the Fall. There's plusses and minuses to each. In Arizona, we don't have the awkward period for about a week after each time change. It does not stay light out until what seems like midnight. The tradeoff is that the sun comes up EARLY during the Summer. Because of the heat and early sunrise, crews start work at or before 5 AM for a good portion of the Summer in Arizona. Construction pros are up early but home pretty early too. In areas with time changes, there isn't quite the extreme early hours but it does stay light later into the evening. It's not too big of a deal professionally, but is misery for many kids and many parents with kids who are trying to get everyone to bed at a reasonable time. So, I think Arizona wins the time change war. Most of the rest of the county goes back and forth and suffers through losing an hour in the Spring to accommodate Daylight Savings but Arizona does that already by waking up in the middle of the night to start work at sunrise. The joke is on everyone else!
